The Hail and Farewell is a special annual event hosted by the USNA North Carolina Parents Club to celebrate transitions within our Midshipmen and parent community.
This gathering allows us to hail families who are new to the Naval Academy journey—welcoming incoming Plebes and their parents—while also bidding farewell to graduating Firsties and their families as they prepare for commissioning and the next chapter of service. Many other clubs call this event their Welcome Aboard event, but we also invite all of the Midshipmen classes currently enrolled at USNA to attend so that incoming Plebes can meet then and connect with potential company members at the academy.
The event is a meaningful opportunity to connect across classes, share experiences, and recognize the dedication and sacrifices made by both Midshipmen and their families. Whether you are just beginning your USNA journey or celebrating its culmination, the Hail and Farewell reflects the strength, continuity, and support of our North Carolina USNA community.
